How are you feeling?
Are you feeling that life keeps throwing stones and eggs your way?
And that you are losing the battle of your life?

When I first read this phrase in Sun Tzu’s Art of War, I had to read it over and over again. Paradox in Master Sun’s teachings is elliptical and fleeting like the Tao, or water moving through your fingertips.
Finally, it hit me like Zeus’s lightning bolt on how this can apply to one’s life. Engaging with the orthodox is perhaps one’s “job job”, if you still have one. Gaining through the unorthodox is one’s side hustle, or outside of the job job system, if you still have a side hustle or if there was another system outside of the job job system. If you make a move first, its force is like a full and hard stone against an empty and easily breakable egg.
So, when you are strong and full, be like a rolling stone, not a cracked and fried or scrambled “this is your brain on drugs” egg.
How can I be full and strong like a stone and not crack so easily like an egg every day of my life?
What I can do to make more money like a stone, not an egg?
Who can I turn to for help, when everyone is an egg?
What about my calling, purpose or mission? Do I even dare to dream another dream during this time?

That was me. I can get so engrossed in my relationships.
After what I call another “game over,” I felt so empty and drained. I felt like I’d crack like an egg with any little thing.
If there was a misunderstanding with an Imagine Team member, I’d take it personally. If a potential didn’t show up, I’d spend the time berating myself on what I could have done wrong. If a client didn’t renew, even if they had reached their goals, I’d be sad that we weren’t continuing our relationship.
Doing business was like an emotional up and down roller coaster, I’d be spent at the end of the day with nothing left to give to others, but at least it was exciting.
I was addicted to the chaos… And I didn’t know how to get off of the ride…
I was so tired and exhausted of being an egg…
The majority of self-help is “love yourself” or “try this on for size” new thoughts or beliefs, like really aspirational, positive affirmations and soothing meditations.
Whatever! It didn’t resonate with me at all. I felt myself becoming more East Coast dark spiritual with a side of bitterness and sarcasm.
Sure, you can dye an egg, decorate it, and dress it up for a holiday, but it’s still an egg.
How can an egg become a stone without getting hard-boiled?
- My answer was to start with the hard shell first. Both stones and eggs have form with 20 Secret Skills, aka The Method. Let’s begin with something sold instead of liquid.
- Next, I worked with the goopy white stuff in our 33 Essential Qualities, or The Way, for the Modern Princess, Agent Goddess, and Wise Warrior.
- Lastly, I transformed my yolk, my union of The Way and The Method with the help of Heaven and Earth.
Finally, at last. It took a decade. I became a stone by thinking, believing, and doing life differently.
