Gratitude as an Attitude

Gratitude as an Attitude

by @ShiuanButler

I recently noticed that a lot of successful leaders I was following talked about practicing gratitude as their everyday essential routine. Then couple days ago, I made another connection. Marie Forleo mentioned that “as long as you’re alive, you always have something to be grateful for.” That made me think of depressed and suicidal people–which I have a fascination for studying– that some of them just can’t see a reason to live when actually there’s a lot of reasons all around them. It’s just a matter of perspective. Which is a key thing I offer to my clients— instead of answers. Also I noticed when I start thinking about all the things I appreciate and am grateful for, I start feeling more forgiving, more understanding, calmer and more at peace with myself. It helps ease feelings of anxiety or fear around my life and indirectly reassuring me that things will work out, that things are good now. Pretty cool, huh? You should give it a try.
